The Ancient Maya, having nothing to do with mighty riversIn Tikal, which is located in the low-land of southern Maya, water is collected by making its land sloped intentionally. What is more, it is considered water saved in the upper part of the land was used for drinking, and a portion of it floated and accumulated in the lower was reused for agriculture. “Reuse”, one of environmentally conscious “3R” which is often heard in the modern society, had already been carried out in the Ancient Maya.
